A Few Common Types of Roses

Roses are one of the most popular flowers to plant. They never never seem to dip in popularity. species of rose best fits your ideas for growing? There are far too many to list, but here are a few ideas.

Landscape roses
Landscape roses are very good for the gardening novice. They are resistant to disease, and need less upkeep.
Hybrid teas are not a good choice for the newcomer to gardening.

Climbing Roses
These roses are different from other rose types as they are trained to grow upward like vines. Most gardeners like to use these for walls or pegolas. Some types are wichuraiana, hybrid teas and large headed climbers. They are a delightful addition to the appeal of a garden or house.

Shrub Roses
Shrub roses like the lovely rugosa are long flowering and disease resistant. These are also an excellent choice for the gardening newcomer. They are beautiful even when they are not in bloom as the foliage is so pretty.

Old Garden Roses
These roses are not very good for those with strong allergies to strong scents as these roses have a strong fragrant odor. However, they bloom for months and are disease resistant.

The Modern Rose
These are a special variety as they are the result of cross breeding the hybrid tea with the polyanthus. They are also known as Floribunda. They are a lovely mix of the very best these two flowers have to offer. They are long blooming, fragrant and great for cutting.

Miniature Roses
Miniature roses are literally what the name suggests. They have all of the beauty and fragrance of a standard rose, but the flowers are smaller. This rose type are a good option for indoor planting and patio gardening.
